Calling All Photographers: Lakes Photo Club Wants Winter Hill Country Shots

Whether you're a seasoned photographer, only just took up the hobby, or still haven't decided whether or not to take the plunge and buy your first DSLR, Marble Falls' Lakes Photo Club welcomes you to its first annual meeting of 2015.

Mike Childers and others founded the club a few years back to promote growth in budding photographers in the area. "There are people who want to go out and take snapshots and that’s it. They aren’t looking for anything else, and they’re happy with that," Childers told The Picayune. "That’s okay. But for others who are looking to become better, the club is a chance to do just that."

At the club's open meeting on February 5, members and non-members alike are invited to bring along some of their best holiday and winter-themed images to share with the group. Members will provide valuable constructive feedback on every photograph designed to help all in attendance become better photographers.

Snow and ice, Christmas lights, fall colors, and family gatherings are all fodder for great winter images, Childers says, and submitted images do not need to have originated in Texas.

The meeting will be held on February 5 at The Falls on the Colorado Museum (2001 S Broadway) in Marble Falls. To find out more, email Mike Childers at [email protected]
