Halloween on Lake LBJ

Happy Halloween! We hope it’s a spooktacular one. Are you ready to hit the lake? We certainly are! Here on Lake LBJ and in the Texas Hill Country, we have several events for you to attend this October! So grab your costume and let’s get ready to hit the town!

Harvest Festival and Pumpkin Run

This is an annual event, taking place on October 21st at the Salvation Army Kroc Center. This family event will feature bounce houses, entertainment, costume-wearing (we told you to grab that costume!), food, and face painting!

Llano River Pumpkin Float

Alongside the banks of the river in Llano park, we’ll be hosting the Llano River Pumpkin Float. This event will take place on October 28th from 5:30 to 8:30 PM. You’ll spot pumpkins glowing and floating near the dam as soon as it gets dark!

Fall Antique Show

On October 21-22nd at Comfort Park, we’ll have a fantastic collection of Americana Antiques- they’ll be offered for sale by fifty out of area exhibitors! We’re certain you’ll have a great time perusing the antiques and maybe spending a buck or two!

Fredericksburg Food and Wine Fest

On October 28th at the downtown Marktplatz, you’ll find a full blown celebration of Texas food, wine, speciality booths, and widespread fun for everyone involved!

Fall Arts Roundup

Occurring on October 28-29th at Spicewood (La Cabana Grill), there will be an annual event featuring 30+ artists! There will be live musical entertainment, a children’s art area, and of course- delicious food and beverages available. All artists will be displaying different media and sell their work in the oak grove of La Cabana Grill.

Well friends and family, we hope we’ve inspired you to get out of the house during this Halloween season, and hit the town for an event or two- or a few! Again, Happy Halloween, and be safe out there!

Fishing Report from TPWD (Apr. 24)

FAIR. Water stained; 74 degrees; 0.27 feet below pool. Crappie are fair in 10-20 feet of water on brush piles with chartreuse jigs. Report by Jess Rotherham, Texas Crappie Fishing Service. Bass are good with a few fish on beds, but there are still plenty in the backs of pockets so use shallow moving baits like a wake bait, swimbait or frog to get some of those good ones. Skipping docks is always a good way to load the boat too using a weightless wacky worm or a jig to get some good bites. Do not forget to run the bulkheads with a shallow crank, fluke or frog. Report by Bryan Cotter, Texas Hawgs.
