It's Springtime and the Lake Awaits




Springtime is here at last, friends, and with it, warm weather! The water’s warming up out here on Lake LBJ and we can’t wait to see you out in it! Below, we have several activities you can participate in- so just grab your swimsuit and get ready to have a blast out on Lake LBJ this season!

Boating

There’s simply no feeling like the wind blowing through your hair and your boat making wake out on the water! Whether you’re boating solo or with family and friends, it’s a fantastic activity- and hobby. Relax, enjoy the water, and cruise on!

Fishing

The early bird catches the… fish? Grab your pole and bait and get to fishing’ on Lake LBJ! Dress for the right weather, bring plenty of protein-filled snacks, and don’t forget to have the best time!

Jet Skiing

Whether you own your own watercraft or you’re renting a jet ski, you’re bound to have a blast. Just be sure to follow the proper guidelines; give ample space to swimmers and any other watercraft! And don’t forget to wear a lifevest that fits you well.

Tubing

For this one, you may need some Advil the next morning- but boy is the fun worth it! Tubing is a very popular water sport that you’ll fall in love with. There’s nothing like a great dose of adrenaline to get you going!

Swimming

Swimming is always an option on the lake, especially if you’re out with your boat! But if you don’t have a boat, no worries. Wading in the water has never been more relaxing. Just don’t forget to bring your sunscreen!

Fishing Report from TPWD (May 1)

FAIR. Water stained; 74 degrees; 0.25 feet below pool. Crappie are fair in 10-20 feet of water on brush piles with chartreuse jigs. Report by Jess Rotherham, Texas Crappie Fishing Service. Bass are good flipping docks with wacky rigged stick worms, jigs and flukes. Working along bulkheads will catch some good ones throwing shallow crankbaits, wake baits and frogs. Report by Bryan Cotter, Texas Hawgs.
