As the days are getting warmer here in Texas, we’re not the only ones wanting to take a dip in the water! Your pets are probably dreaming of running and playing outside, going in the lake, and enjoying your vacation (or stay-cation) with you. Lake LBJ and the surrounding cities are one of the best places you can bring your pet - there are plenty of pet-friendly restaurants where your dog can join you on the patio, parks to explore, and lake-front access for them to get their paws wet!
Pet-Friendly Lodging
There are two places you and your pup can stay - Horseshoe Bay Resort (in Horseshoe Bay) or Little Lodge on the Lake (in Kingsland).
One of the most popular resorts on the lake - Horseshoe Bay Resort - does charge a non-refundable cleaning fee, but you can enjoy a ton of amenities. On the other hand, Little Lodge on the Lake has places for you to park an RV (and bring your dog), or you can also pay a small fee to rent a cabin with your pet.
Dog-Friendly Eats
You’d be surprised at the number of restaurants that allow dogs on their patios. Angel’s Icehouse and Opie’s Barbecue (in Spicewood, a nearby city) are two local establishments that have accommodations for your pets. Opie’s Barbecue will even bring a bowl of water out for them! If you’re looking for something quick - the Dairy Queen in both Kingsland and Marble Falls have porches that welcome dogs.
Activities with your Pet
While there are certainly many parks, hiking trails, and other activities for your dog around Lake LBJ - you can also find a number of leash-free zones for your dog (we all know how much they love that freedom). Johnson Park in Marble Falls and Pace Bend Park in Spicewood are both parks that have these areas and are perfect for pet owners!
Don’t leave your furry friend at home next time you visit Lake LBJ, they can come along on your vacation adventures!
